Serving Our Community

Lion's Club

Our office is an active participant of Lion's Club International where we collect old pairs of eyeglasses to be recycled and used by less fortunate nations. If you have any old glasses, please drop them off at our office so we can forward them to the Holyoke Lion's Club.

Also, during the month of December, The Holyoke Lion's Club has their annual Citrus Fruit Sale in order to raise money for local charities. Please stop by our office to pick up an order form beginning the week of Nov. 8th.

Treats for Troops

Our Treats For Troops program is an opportunity for all Trick-or-Treaters to donate their Halloween candy to American troops overseas. This is a terrific chance for even the smallest of children to feel like they're a part of something that's bigger than all of us.

How It Works

We set aside a specific window of time on the first two working days after Halloween for children to bring their candy to our office in Holyoke and in turn they enter their names into a raffle. For each pound of candy they turn in - they'll get a chance at the raffle. This year, the raffle prizes are:

  • Grand Prize - 4 pack of season's passes to Six Flags!
  • First & Second Prizes - Silver iPod shuffle (4 GB)
  • Third - Seventh Prizes - 2 pack of gift cards to Rave Motion Pictures.

Every child will also receive a free toothbrush and will also be able to sign up for a tour of Barnes! The candy is then brought to the 104th Family Readiness Group at Barnes Air Force Base where it is packaged and shipped to the troops overseas.

November 2, 2009 was our first ever Treats For Troops Day. We were very humbled by the generous donations from both children and adults. We would also like to mention the donation made by Peoples Bank on our behalf to Family Readiness Group. Their generosity helped cover the cost of packaging and shipping the candy!
